Our cosmos was born in a big bang a billion years ago.
It was born from a great desire,
So great it turned chaos into order.
From the depths of the infinite came the light,
Transcending the Void irresistibly.
From nonexistent depths came a fight
Between order and entropy.
Spontaneous immanence of life,
Continuous extension of the universe:
From atoms to cells,
From quarks to unspeakable particles,
The light has spread in all directions,
Enlightening the dance of matter with antimatter,
Offering time and space to the universe.
Particles spread through an ever-expanding space,
Creating galaxies, stars, nova, planets,
And other experimental shapes.
So many kinds of life emerging from nothingness,
So many kinds of life colonizing our planet.
From the miracle of microbes,
To the unexpected advent of bacteria,
In the depths and in the heights,
We are witnessing an incredible drama.
From one breath to another,
Always more complexity and colors.
From the bottom of the seas
To the heart of volcanoes,
Everywhere life designed beauty,
Each life chiseled in a perfect fragility.
A goldsmith’s delicacy,
That drew the leaves of the trees
And the eyes of children.
So much energy distilled through time and space,
So many shapes and variations of matter:
Air, earth, fire and water,
Minerals, plants, and creatures,
Up to homo sapiens demens, our species.
We come from apes and bacteria,
But our ancestors are also galaxies.
We emerged in a such pretty world with flowers and trees,
Such a tricky world, where one must eat the other to live.
Symbiosis is another form of interaction,
Possibly the one we should adopt in our actions…
Not sure if we are failing or succeeding,
At least we keep on trying and thanking.
The universe didn’t have to be beautiful,
But it is.
Humans have the possibility to experience and express this beauty.
Tell me if one day you see a deer carving a human shape in a tree.
Humans can also cut all trees they need to breeze,
Using them to write words no one cares to read.
Maybe we should just speak under the trees
And let their memory flow through our veins.
Let’s share with them our billion years old story,
To better incarnate in our short-lived destiny.
Each new moment is done forever,
Turning the ephemeral ‘is’ into the eternal ‘was’.
Each new moment leading towards evolution,
On a web made of illusions and reality,
On a spiral made of stories.
A chaotical order renewed each second
Offering us life and its beauty
To experience love and its eternity.
